Brian Duperreault

The Duperreault Fellowship is a scholarship fund that offers financial support for educational and training programs for people involved in Bermuda's substance use disorder prevention and intervention services.

The Fellowship was established through a generous personal donation from the Duperreault Family, matched by the ACE Foundation, in recognition of Brian Duperreault, a former ACE Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, 's leadership and the ACE Group's commitment to the Bermuda community.

Mission
To prevent and treat substance misuse by funding individuals to develop their skills and join a well-trained group of human service professionals in Bermuda, providing the highest quality of substance use disorder and addiction prevention and intervention services.

Funding
Each year, investment income on a $1,500,000 endowment capital will be considered for distribution to financially support personal and professional training and continuing education of professional service providers.

Bermudian-born Brian Duperreault is Chairman of Cedar Trace Limited. He is a former Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of American International Group, Inc. (AIG). Brian also previously served as Chief Executive Officer of AIG from 2017 to 2021.

Before joining AIG, Brian was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hamilton Insurance Group (Hamilton) from 2013 to 2017. Hamilton is a Bermuda‐based holding company of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance operations in Bermuda, the US, and the UK.Brian served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) from 2008 to 2012. Before joining MMC, he served for two years as non‐executive Chairman of ACE Limited, an insurance and reinsurance company, and as CEO of ACE from 1994 through 2004.

Prior to joining ACE, Brian held various senior executive positions with AIG and its affiliates from 1973 to 1994.

Brian is a member of the Boards of Saint Joseph’s University, CAS (Casualty Actuarial Society), Malteser International Americas, Charter Member of Industry Leaders Council (ILC), IESE Business School, and Emeritus Member of the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS), and Executive Chairman of Mereo Advisors. He is a former Director of Johnson Controls, the former Chairman of the Board of Overseers of the School of Risk Management of St. John’s University, New York, and Chairman Emeritus of Blue Marble Microinsurance.

Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from St. Joseph’s University.

Brian and his wife, Nancy, have three sons – Daniel, David, and Christopher – and four grandchildren.
