Award Conditions
Selection Criteria
The Committee will pay special regard to evidence of:
- Qualities of character, leadership, responsibility, and community involvement
- Financial need
- Community benefit
Fellow Requirements
An individual must:
- Identify specific educational goals or professional career objectives
- Keep the Committee informed of progress by submitting grades and/or transcripts each term
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
Post-Completion Obligation
A Fellow must return to Bermuda for at least three to five years to take a professional or volunteer role in any substance use prevention or intervention program and to register with the Bermuda Addiction Certification Board (BACB) at www.bacb.bm.
Award Withdrawal
The Committee reserves the right to withdraw the award if a Fellow engages in any activity that risks the prestige of the Duperreault Fellowship and/or if the Fellow's cumulative GPA drops below 2.75 or its equivalent. The Fellowship is not responsible for covering expenses if a Fellow retakes a course.
Funding Coverage
The funds are intended to cover tuition, room, and board at the designated place of study, with additional related costs funded at the Committee's discretion. All funds will be sent directly to the institution of study.
